5 boats prepared to set off to sail round Sully Island competing for the Commodore’s Plate. Only 2 came back under sail. As the wind increased Chris B decided to head for shore, Chris H headed towards the island but thought better of the dead run through the causeway. Karl managed to get to the far end but his mast fell down in the 4 foot short chop, which left the two Dart 16s (Pete with Pietro and Robin with Javier) to fight it out over 2 laps. Pete nearly caught Robin at the end of the first lap as the latter got stuck head to wind, but Robin held on for the win.
Only the Cats competed in the second race but Robin’s mast nearly fell down so he withdrew leaving Pete to seal the win and second place in the series behind Steve and ahead of Nigel.
